Vermont School Board Insurance

Trust Office

Summary

Bread Loaf provided Pre-construction and Construction Management services with design-build MEP systems for a new 10,900 sf, two-story office building and associated site work for the Vermont School Board Insurance Trust in Berlin, Vermont.

The building’s main level consists of flexible office space, meeting and break rooms, reception, and associated support space. The lower level houses a large training room, exercise room, and support space. Exterior building materials are a combination of brick, wood siding and aluminum storefront. Mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems are energy-efficient. Sustainable design features include use of natural daylight, high–efficiency lighting fixtures, low flow plumbing fixtures, and low emitting materials for interior finishes.

Existing site improvements and existing buildings were demolished to make way for site re-grading, the new building and new site improvements including parking and landscaping. A new sanitary sewer line was extended from the site to the town sanitary sewer main and water was supplied for the facility from a new drilled well.
