The Town of Colchester selected Bread Loaf Corporation to design and build additions and renovations to their existing Police Station. Design was finalized one month after Bread Loaf selection with Owner occupancy of the project achieved in a compressed construction schedule of six months.

The project included a 1,500 square foot sallyport addition with two holding cells and a processing area. An adjacent two-story 2,000 square foot addition accommodates needed office space on the upper floor and a fitness room, storage, and mechanical space on the lower floor. A new elevator and stairs provides accessibility and addresses life safety issues. Significant renovations to the existing two story facility included all new mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems. Existing interior finishes were removed and re-installed after installation of four inches of spray foam insulation in the walls and twelve inches of cellulose insulation in the attic. The added insulation provides the Town to see significant energy cost savings. The total area of the completed Police Station is 15,100 square feet. Final design and construction of the project was completed on schedule and under budget.
