Carbone Auto Group
Hyundai-Ford Dealership
Summary
The Carbone Auto Group chose Bread Loaf to build their new Hyundai-Ford automobile dealership in Bennington, Vermont.
Site work needed for the project was very extensive with nearly five acres of site improvements. Preparation for the building and parking areas required importation of nearly 10,000 cubic yards of fill to raise elevation of the existing land by four feet. Parking areas were constructed utilizing a pervious asphalt pavement design, which allows rain and storm water to pass through, in an effort to address stormwater management concerns.
The building exterior is clad with insulated metal wall panels, exterior insulation finish system and glass storefront system. Interior showroom floor finishes are polished concrete. Concrete floor slabs in the vehicle service areas are radiant-heated providing comfort for service employees. The building’s heating system also incorporates a waste-oil boiler which allows used-oil from vehicles to be recycled as a fuel source for the boiler.
