Grange Hall Wins Big in 2008
Press ReleaseHard work and determination certainly do pay off. The reconstruction of the Ferrisburgh Grange Hall is a testament of that. Less than one year after Ferrisburgh citizens voted to convert this historical building into town offices and a community center, the building was tragically destroyed by a fire. With the help of Bread Loaf, the building was reconstructed and became the first project in the state of Vermont to use historic preservation funding to build a new building, not simply to restore an existing structure. It is also one of only a few similar projects in the entire country.
In 2008, Bread Loaf was recognized for meeting this project’s challenges as the recepient of two distinguished awards, The American Institute of Architects Vermont chapter Excellence in Architecture”award, and The Associated General Contractors of VermontBest Builder for New Construction award.
