Bread Loaf Corporation Receives Award for Town Hall Theater Restoration & Preservation
Press Release - Friday, January 29, 2010The Vermont Chapter of the American Institute of Architects recently presented Bread Loaf Corporation an “Excellence in Architecture – Merit Award” in the Historic Renovation/Preservation category for Middlebury’s Town Hall Theater.
The award acknowledges “the work required to bring this elegant piece of architecture back to its former glory.” Said Douglas Anderson, Executive Director of Town Hall Theater, Inc., “The challenge in this project was to fit a state-of-the-art theater into a Victorian landmark, respecting both the needs of contemporary performers and the legacy of the historic structure. It demanded a thorough understanding of the program, great creativity and problem solving skills, patience, and attention to detail. The team delivered in every respect. After over a year of operation the building is performing beautifully, and Middlebury’s landmark theater is once again a focal point for the entire community.”
