Automaster Renovates BMW Showroom
Jeff Pierce
The Automaster began a total renovation and expansion of their free-standing BMW showroom with deconstruction on Nov. 24. The total renovation includes stripping the existing building down to the structural steel and rebuilding a completely updated showroom, with an expansion of 980 square feet of new space to the existing footprint. Construction of the new state-of-the-art facility is scheduled for completion on April 20.
“Our goal is to move through the construction phase as seamlessly as possible, with little disruption for our customers,” said General Manager Dale Fillion. “The end result will be most rewarding and beneficial to our customers; the new facility will allow us to offer numerous customer-driven improvements including some very exciting, cutting-edge upgrades in service technology,” Fillion noted.
Bread Loaf Corporation of Middlebury is serving as the architect and general contractor for the project. “We’ve been working with The Automaster for many years now, across numerous projects,” stated Ken Labas, a designer with Bread Loaf Corporation. “This renovation is a total upgrade in identity, marketing, and technology. By design, the detail and colors of the facility compliment the cars. The intent is for the focus to be drawn through the building, to the vehicles. The entire building is being upgraded to a new set of standards, resulting in a dramatic improvement in energy and cost-efficiency,” Labas elaborated.
The BMW sales operation has been relocated to temporary work trailers located at the front of the main lot, and BMW service has been integrated in the main service area located at the back of the main building, with valet parking service for customers, for the duration of the project.
“This is a very exciting time for The Automaster,” said John DuBrul III, vice president of The Automaster. “This is the culmination of a lot of long-term planning and strategies for the growth of our company and is predicated on our commitment to providing the most comprehensive and luxurious experience, from sales to service, for our customers.” DuBrul stated.
As part of The Automaster’s ongoing commitment to the environment and the community, all salvageable material, including all the metal, aluminum and glass, are being recycled and all the bricks are being ground for re-purposing.
